Join The Salvation Army, MaxLove Project, CoAxe Studio, and COR Compost on April 23rd at 2pm to learn more about our community garden and culinary medicine teaching kitchen project. We’re so excited to share this project with our community!
The project will consist of:
Community garden plots available for community members
A communal garden to feed our community in need
The Fierce Foods Kitchen culinary medicine center that includes a shipping container to house the mobile teaching kitchen, solar power, tables and seating for 200 people, audio-visual equipment, rainwater capture, 3-compartment sink, running water, and a garden to support the kitchen's activities.
A community composting center
Bees, bees and more bees!
Fruit orchard
Event space for farm-to-table dinners
The location is at The Salvation Army property in the garden next to the baseball field off of Kerry St. Participants will have the opportunity to comment on our early phase plans for the community garden and culinary medicine teaching kitchen site and make requests for other uses. This site will be a hub of health and wellness in our community! We’re so excited to bring this collaborative vision to life. There will be opportunities to sign up to join the team as a volunteer. Refreshments will be served.
We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
